Mr. West is an AV-rated attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of securities law, maritime law, business litigation, and a wide range of tort and contract disputes.  He has served as an NASD Arbitrator from 1995 to the present.  In his 50-year career, including 23 years as a partner in a large Baltimore law firm, Mr. West has developed an extensive civil litigation practice.  He has successfully represented broker-dealers, registered representatives, and individuals in securities disputes dealing with employment matters, customer claims, and regulatory issues in federal and state trial and appellate courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and in arbitrations before the NASD and NYSE.  In maritime matters, Mr. West has extensive experience prosecuting and defending shipowners, operators, charterers, and individuals in personal injury and death cases, charter disputes, cargo and property damage cases, oil spills, and other maritime claims in federal and state trial and appellate courts in the mid-Atlantic area.  He has vast experience in personal injury litigation arising out of accidents involving autos, boats, motorcycles and aircraft and in a variety of general and civil business, contract and estate disputes.
